The Javanese tribe is one of the tribes in Indonesia that is famous for its gentle language and good attitude. Javanese is spoken by Javanese tribes, especially in Central Java, Yogyakarta, and East Java. In addition to Java, Javanese is also spoken abroad, precisely in Netherland and Suriname. The Republic of Suriname was formerly called Dutch Guiana or Dutch Guiana and just like Indonesia, this country was colonized by the Dutch. This country is famous in Indonesia because there are many Javanese speakers.

Javanese tribes came to Suriname in the late 19th century in what is now known as Javanese-Surinamese. They actually came from Indonesia and brought by the Dutch who at that time colonized the country of Indonesia. The dutch's purpose of bringing many people from Java was intended as labor in the Suriname plantation sector. History records approximately 32,956 people brought as labor from 1890 to 1939.

Dialect Kedu language is one of the dialects in Java, precisely spoken in Magelang, Temanggung Regency, Purworejo Regency, the eastern part of Wonosobo Regency and the eastern part of Kebumen Regency. Kedu dialect has a distinctive style of speech because it is a mixture of two dialects, namely mataram dialect and ngapak dialect.

The number of Javanese speakers in Suriname is currently around 65,000 and there are also as many as 30,000 speakers in the Netherlands. There is only one Surinamese Javanese dialect, but many variants of words were created because of dialect differences at the beginning of their move. In addition, many new vocabulary words are influenced by other languages in Suriname, one of which is Dutch. Phonologically it is not much different from Javanese in its original region, Java.

As is known, Javanese is famous for its language level where this language level is used according to the interlocutor. They used different language levels when talking to older people, peers, strangers and strangers. In Java there are 3 levels, namely Ngoko, Krama Madya, and Krama Inggil. While in Suriname has different levels, namely Ngoko, Krama, and Krama Napis. However, many young generation in Suriname cannot speak Javanese krama.
